Email Configuration

Email configuration can be a tricky and at times frustrating procedure. To get it right the first time, don’t rush and follow the steps we provide being careful with your entries. Try to avoid typos and pay special attention to entering passwords. There are usually only a couple of things that prevent your email operating correctly. Especially relevant are the username and password as well as the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

Finally, regardless of how you access your email the same username and password is always used.

Troubleshooting Email Setup

Nearly all connection issues with your Net Maintain provided email configuration can be resolved by following the following steps.

  1. Check that you have entered the correct username and password for the mailbox. If you can successfully log-in to webmail it confirms you are using the correct username/password.
  2. Ensure you have entered the correct incoming and outgoing mail server names.
  3. If your username and password as well as the incoming and outgoing mail server names are correct it is possible that you have the wrong mail server port numbers. (These should be 993 for the incoming mail server and 465 for the outgoing mail server.)
  4. After changing any of your configuration settings restart your device to clear the settings cache.
  5. Check that your changes have actually been saved.
  6. Check for spelling errors or erroneous spaces, especially at the beginning or end of the entry where they can be difficult to detect.
  7. Download the setup instructions above. Even though these instructions are for configuring a new mailbox on an Apple device they can still provide a useful guide as to where specific entries go.
  8. Try adding a new account to your mail program from scratch. You can always delete the old mailbox once you have the new account working normally. (If using this method when migrating to the new mail system please be aware that it can take a while to download all your old messages to the new mailbox, especially if your old mailbox was storing large volumes of data.)
